To resolve presentation font distortion, identify where the issue first occurs: in the editor, during slide presentation playback, or when opening the downloaded file in another application? Garbled or incorrect characters and text overflowing its box are two different issues. First, take note of the problematic word, the font being used, and the target environment. Then run your check on a small sample; switching the font across the entire presentation right away can trigger unnecessary new text overflows.
Distinguish character issues from sizing issues
If a Turkish character looks incorrect or rendered differently, font language support or fallback font substitutions might be at play. If every character renders properly but line wraps have shifted, font metrics, weights, or application rendering differences could be responsible. Pasted text may also carry hidden, fragmented formatting. Try retyping the problematic word as plain text and compare it inside a newly created text box using the same font.
To pick an appropriate font from the outset, apply the Turkish character test described in the guide on choosing presentation fonts.
Create a small test slide
Prepare a test slide containing a long heading, a short paragraph, numbers, and Turkish characters. Review the exact same copy in both regular and bold weights. If the intended weight fails to appear, investigate the discrepancy between the selected font and the rendered result. If line breaks shift, record the bounding box dimensions as well. This way, you can verify whether a fix truly works without having to rescan the entire presentation.
As sample text, you can use “İş birliği, ölçüm ve çözüm” alongside a line containing a date and an amount. Ensure the information in your test slide is purely representative; avoid duplicating client data unnecessarily.
Examine the behavior in the target application
Never assume that a font seen in your browser will render identically on another device or inside an office suite. Font availability on the recipient's machine and the application's text layout engine can alter the outcome. If you have access, open the file directly in the target environment. If not, ask the recipient for the slide number, a screenshot, and details about the application they are using, rather than relying solely on a vague report that it looks “broken.” Make sure you are not mixing up different versions of the same file.
- Verify the source presentation.
- Open the final generated file.
- Inspect the same slide on the target device.
- Compare character rendering and line wraps.
- Generate a new file once the correction is made.
Try alternatives without shrinking the text
If switching fonts causes an overflow, consider enlarging the text box, shortening the headline, or splitting the content. Shrinking all text across the board can degrade readability. If a brand mandates a specific font, consult with the brand manager before resorting to an arbitrary replacement. When an alternative font is used, it may also need to be noted in the delivery handover.
The text overflow guide breaks down these layout decisions from both content and spacing perspectives.
Keep a reproducible sample
When reporting a font issue, prepare a clean test slide that reproduces the exact problem instead of sharing the entire presentation whenever possible. This slide can include the font name, weight, affected word, and target environment used. This makes it easier to reproduce the issue without exposing personal information or confidential content. Keep the text in the test slide unchanged so it can be accurately compared against the source file.
Reopen the same sample after applying the fix. Just because a previously distorted character renders properly does not mean the long heading will now fit; verify both independently. Then return to the matching slides in the actual presentation. A small test slide does not replace the final delivery check; it is simply a tool to evaluate technical changes more clearly.
Use AI for text refinement
Example prompt: “This heading wraps onto three lines with our chosen font. Write three shorter alternatives while preserving the product name, date, and core recommendation. Do not introduce any new certainty or claims of success.” AI cannot verify whether a font file is installed correctly; perform that technical check in the actual environment.
Save your changes in Draw ai and reopen the presentation. PDF serves as a static delivery option; export access, including PPTX, depends on your plan and permissions. Even in a static view, review the final file to confirm that source notes, special characters, and headings remain fully intact.
