When building a presentation with Draw, start by defining the core message you want to convey, then map that message across editable slides. The editor and template gallery give you a starting point for organizing text and visuals into a cohesive narrative.
Working in the editor
Evaluate the headline, body copy, and visuals on each slide separately. Instead of shrinking long blocks of text to fit, refine your core takeaway or split the content across two slides. Follow this sequence as you design:
- Content: Clarify the specific question the slide answers.
- Layout: Position related text and visuals close to one another.
- Preview: Review the slide in presentation view to check readability.
Preparing for team handoff
When multiple contributors are involved, establish responsibilities and the sequence for final reviews in advance. Consolidate notes from whoever is auditing content accuracy with feedback from the person reviewing the design. Test sharing permissions and the chosen file format with a practice run. Note that the availability and scope of team features depend on your current account plan.
Choosing a template
Do not pick a template based purely on the cover color. Look for side-by-side columns for comparisons, sequential steps for processes, and clear chart areas for data presentation. Browse the options available in the gallery and test a single slide using your actual content. Once you confirm the design supports your narrative, proceed with building the remaining slides.
