When AI presentation generation is interrupted, first verify whether the current presentation was saved, check the status on the processing screen, and review any displayed error message. Starting a brand-new generation immediately can duplicate identical content or obscure the root cause of the problem. Distinguish between connection, session, balance, capacity, and generation errors. Only use the app’s resume or retry options after assessing the current state.
Preserve saved progress
If slides have already been generated, inspect them and note down the presentation's name. A loading screen closing unexpectedly does not necessarily mean all content is lost. Conversely, seeing a preview does not guarantee that the entire generation finished. Distinguish between saved slides and sections still in progress. If you plan to contact support, gather essential details such as the presentation name, timestamp, and error message; do not share confidential content or authentication credentials.
Presentation version control provides a structured logging approach to moving forward without accidentally overwriting the existing copy.
Evaluate the error message by category
Session errors, plan limits, and insufficient balances require completely different solutions. Avoid lumping them together under a generic "the AI isn't working" label. If an error stems from slide capacity limits, adding more credits alone will not create room for additional slides. Access rules can also differ between text and image generation. Recording the exact code and message reported prevents critical context from being lost when explaining the issue.
The Draw ai Free plan includes no monthly AI credits. An eligible coupon or available balance may grant conditional access for text operations; capacity limits still apply separately. AI bitmap generation is disabled on Free accounts, and coupons do not unlock it.
Check connectivity and process status separately
A slow or unresponsive tab does not definitively mean the process has halted on the server. However, you should not assume that every job continues running in the background if the browser is closed. Check the app’s live status indicator. If a resume option is available, evaluate continuing from that same record. Clicking repeatedly or launching the same task across multiple tabs can make diagnosis even more difficult.
- Check the existing presentation and slides.
- Record the error message.
- Inspect your session and connection status.
- Examine your balance and slide capacity separately.
- Use the provided resume path once.
- Do not launch a new task before reviewing the outcome.
Identify what content is actually missing
Which part of the presentation is incomplete: research, copy, visuals, or the final save? For example, if the text is complete but an image failed to generate, recreating the entire deck from scratch is rarely necessary. Preserving the current layout and adding an uploaded image, appropriate stock asset, or native shape can be viable alternatives. Check which options are available based on your account's current terms.
Document the current state before retrying
If a process appears stuck, note how long it has remained on the same step, the last visible message, and the number of saved slides. Preserve the exact error code if one is shown. This record provides concrete information rather than a vague timeline when reaching out to support later. If taking screenshots, verify that confidential content and personal data are not unnecessarily visible.
After attempting a retry, note any change in status. Did the same message persist, were new slides saved, or did a different error appear? These represent distinctly different outcomes. Triggering actions back-to-back without inspecting the result obscures which step produced what effect. A process log is not a guarantee that work will automatically resume; it is your working record for making sound decisions.
Structure your support request
Sample AI prompt: “Generate a concise status summary for customer support based on the following error notes. Keep the start time, last observed stage, saved slides, and attempted troubleshooting steps separate. Do not speculate on or assert the root cause.” You can compile this summary without exposing proprietary content.
Once generation finishes, re-verify slide order and inspect for missing elements. The AI presentation error checklist supports post-generation content review. A successful resume action does not automatically guarantee that every slide is flawless.
